BEGINNERS CLASSES
New Class staring Tuesday 12th March 2024 at 8.45pm
New members are vitally important for the success of our dance school and we warmly welcome new members to our classes. You do not need to have a partner to come along to our Beginners Classes.
Our Beginners Class covers the basics of nearly all the Latin and Ballroom dances (please see below) from 8.45pm - 9.30pm.
After the class there will be social dancing until 10.00pm. The entry price will be £8.00 per person payable on the door by cash or card.
You will need to complete a simple registration form on your arrival to the venue.
We encourage all participants in our classes to change partners regularly, that way you learn much quicker and benefit by learning from other people and form a new friendship circle. If you would prefer to stay fixed with one partner, that is fine although please let your teacher know.

We give our beginners a broad introduction to most Ballroom and Latin dances together with some Salsa and Modern Jive steps

JIVE
Basic in Place, Basic in Fallaway and Turn Under and Back
MODERN JIVE
Basic, Travelling Return, Manspin, Ladiespin
SALSA
Basic, Cucarachas, Cross Body Lead
WALTZ
LF Closed Change, RF Closed Change, 1st 3 steps of the Natural Turn, Outside Change and Natural Turn round the corner
QUICKSTEP
Basic (Quarter Turn to the Right and Progressive Chasse) and Natural Turn.
TANGO
Natural Rock Turn, Closed Promenade and Four Step Round the Corner
